Dr. Ekstrom

Kathryn (Katy) Ekstrom, M.D. grew up in rural Iowa.  She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology-Chemistry at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma.  

She received her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, where she was selected to be a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Dr. Ekstrom completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Utah, and is board-certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics.  She has aspired to start a direct primary care practice since learning about the model in 2013, and is excited to see the dream become a reality!

Dr. Ekstrom and her husband Rick have enjoyed living in Henderson County since moving here in 2015.  They spend most of their time taking care of their children, attending their church, and running their businesses (Rick is the electrician/owner of True Light Electric).  Dr. Ekstrom enjoys playing the piano, reading, trying out new recipes, and adventuring with her family.
